For those who have a guarantor, The Nippon Foundation provides support for travel, living, and housing expenses. Please check The Nippon Foundation's website (Japanese/Ukrainian/English) for information on how to apply. Some municipalities provide benefits to those who fled Ukraine. If you are receiving support from other sources, you may not be eligible for assistance from the municipality. Contact your local prefectural or municipal office.
For those who do not have a guarantor, the Japanese government provides various types of assistance, including provision of a temporary place to stay, living and medical expenses, interpreters, and support for administrative procedures. Consult with the Japanese embassy or consulate general in the neighboring country on an individual basis.
