Opening a bank account
I have been granted a "Temporary Visitor" visa. However, I wasn't able to open a bank account.
Although granted a "Temporary Visitor" visa, you won't be able to open a bank account. Please change your residency status to "Designated Activities"(1 year) before going to the bank counter for account opening.
I do not have the identification documents to open a bank account.
Regarding identification documents for those who fled Ukraine, the Immigration Services Agency of Japan has sent a certificate of being people who fled Ukraine. However, it is necessary to confirm whether this certificate can be used in opening a bank account.
About information on required documents, languages available for the procedure, and available services, please check with the bank in advance before going to the counter, if so you can ensure a smooth procedure.
